Hello Bytewax fans! We're keeping things simple this time, focusing on giving you a quick and easy read about all the noteworthy happenings in our buzzyverse πππ.
Let's begin with what's new on our blog and then recap recent happenings and a preview of upcoming events!
This week on our blog
Thrilled to see our community diving into research and blogging about streaming! Today, we're spotlighting Edmondo Porcu's post about Arroyo and Bytewax.
Arroyo simplifies complex streaming processes with its intuitive SQL-first system, perfect for users seeking streamlined operations. Bytewax, on the other hand, empowers with Python, offering detailed and customizable dataflows. Both are ideal for real-time analytics and machine learning, offering robust solutions for event processing, feature extraction, and more.
Events
Yesterday's Seattle Python meetup was nothing short of epic! Our own Oli presented on the fundamentals of streaming data, providing guidance on starting a first stream processing project using Bytewax. The convergence of communities like Seattle Spark + AI, PyLadies Seattle, GDG Bellevue, PyData Seattle and Women Techmakers Seattle created an unforgettable vibe.
We can't wait to share the recorded sessions!
If you haven't had a chance to join Oli yesterday, please consider coming to the Unstructured Data Meetup on Feb 13th, where she'll be giving a talk "Stream, Process, Embed, Repeat". In less than half an hour, she'll build a real-time RAG pipeline end-to-end in Python. Learn how to read HackerNews posts in real time, transform and aggregate data, create embeddings, and store them in a vector database. Location: Redmond, WA. Doors open at 5:00 pm, Oli's talk starts at 6:50 pm.
How about a casual evening with fellow data enthusiasts?
On Feb 15th at 7 pm, join us for the Bytewax Happy Hour, brought to you by Bay Data Club in Santa Cruz. Itβs more than just a meetup β itβs a celebration of data, driven by the community.
Explore the Bytewax features in a chat with our CEO, Zander Matheson, get your hands on cool swag, and network with fellow enthusiasts who are just as passionate about data.
Register today and be ready to immerse yourself in an event where data, networking, and fun are the main ingredients.
π Bytewax's role in enhancing RAG pipelines for generative AI apps is growing. Mikko LehtimΓ€ki from Softlandia Ltd. presents the architecture of their LLM platform, yokot.ai, enhanced by Bytewax for the ingestion pipeline.
We are also delighted to announce a joint workshop with Softlandia Ltd. on February 16th at 9 am PST. Gain hands-on experience in creating RAG-based LLM apps with us! RSVP now! π
Interviews
It's always a pleasure for us to talk about Bytewax, and we were delighted to accept Hopsworks' invitation to join their '5-minute interviews' series.
In a quick chat, our CEO, Zander Matheson, revealed Bytewax's mission to simplify ML real-time inference and stresses the importance of MLOps. He also gave recommended Fast AI and other resources to stay up to date.
